The Center for Educational Policy Research seeks to help policy makers and policy implementers alike do a better job of using educational policy as a tool to improve schooling and student learning.
CEPR works with federal agencies, state education departments, non-governmental organizations, private foundations, and school districts to support research on a range of issues in the areas of high school-to-college articulation, adequacy funding, large-scale assessment models, and other policy initiatives designed to improve student success.

New Resources Available for Free Download
Funded by a U.S. Dept of Education grant --and now available here for free download-- are resources for high school teachers who want to develop courses for seniors in the academic middle 50%. Senior Seminars and Paired Courses prepare students who don’t want to take traditional college prep courses for what they’ll need to know to succeed in college. (Read more…)

New Report Available to Download
Toward a More Comprehensive Conception of College Readiness is a policy paper that the Bill & Melinda Gates Foundation commissioned Dr. Conley to write. To download Toward a More Comprehensive Conception of College Readiness, click the image on the left.

Published in March of this year, the paper provides a four-component definition of college readiness, with specific examples of indicators and ideas for what schools and students can do to foster and develop college readiness.
